About Us

The work of the Laboratoire d’Étude sur le Développement de l’Enfant et sa Famille (LEDEF) focuses on the development of vulnerable children, such as those who are victims of child abuse and neglect, as well as on the parent-child attachment relationship.

This work helps to identify risk and protective factors in vulnerable families, such as those victims of abuse and neglect. The various projects of the laboratory also aim to promote the well-being of families through the Attachment Video-feedback Intervention (AVI) with children reported to child protective services. The AVI has shown improvements in parental sensitivity and child development, and has led to more informed decision-making about child placement.
