This complex societal problem has devastating effects on children's development. This book aims to enlighten readers about the developmental processes that contribute to maltreatment and its harmful effects on children's developmental trajectories.

This collective work looks at different contexts of intervention, offers avenues for reflection on clinical, organizational and public policy issues, and takes a multidimensional look at developmental processes, taking into account the influence of risk and protective factors of various ecological systems.
